longshot

On the evening of Friday, June 19th, 2009, one hundred photographers took to the streets to document one full day and night in the life of Seattle. Industrial landscapes to intimate parties, summer festivals to the quiet (or not so quiet) hours before dawn. Some focused on a specific event or location, while others took an open approach and documented of the journey. The resulting images were featured in a July 2009 exhibition at Ouch My Eye Studio in Seattle's SODO district.

I created this event while working for the Photographic Center Northwest, a non-profit arts organization on Capitol Hill. The idea was introduced as an experimental fundraising model to support the center's education programs. This evolved into Long Shot, our "24-hour photographic endurance event."

This portfolio features a series of my own images from the experience.
