Place and ritual are recurring themes in my work, integrating the use of lens-based media, site-specific investigations and related materials. Amidst a less rooted and increasingly secular society, I debate the distinction between space and place—as well as the cultural meaning attached to vernacular architecture versus ‘sites of significance’. My process-oriented approach is characterized by elements of movement, repetition, and reinvention, at turns both scrappy and reverent.
